ITVF meets officials of the Japan Volleyball Association in Tokyo

TEQVOLY™

After the successful meetings with the diplomatic institutions and official representatives of Hungary in Japan, Mr István Döbrei, Secretary-General of the International Table Volleyball Federation (ITVF), visited the Japan Volleyball Association (JVA) to exchange views on the ongoing internationalisation of volleyball and the latest trends in Japan. With the increasing global competitiveness and commercial value of ball sports, both parties shared insights into league management models and international market trends.

The visit presented ITVF with a chance to introduce table volleyball by TEQVOLY™ as a novel and innovative method of introducing traditional volleyball to future generations.

During the meeting at the headquarters of JVA, Keiichiro Yoshida, representing Table Volleyball of Japan and leading the sport’s grassroots promotion, has been making significant efforts to accelerate its introduction and awareness domestically.

Concluding the meeting, Mr Döbrei proposed table volleyball as a potential strategy to promote physical activity among older individuals within the country – based on the remarkable achievement of Japan, which boasts the oldest active table volleyball player in the world.

The recent visit indicates that table volleyball by TEQVOLY™ has entered a phase of recognition-building in Japan, marking a significant step towards future international event hosting and domestic development, both in Japan and Asia. The ITVF, in collaboration with its Japanese member organisation, will continue to engage with Japanese national organisations to promote the sport, enhance cultural exchange, and create opportunities for athletes, fans, and partners.
